3rd Rock Plumbing – Customer-Focused, Results-Driven!
I purchased a mid-70s home in Hickory that was on a septic tank and wanted to connect to the city sewer system.
The day after contacting 3rd Rock Plumbing, before I had even closed on the purchase of my house, Cole showed up to conduct an inspection and offer a solution. Within days, he and coworker Jay used a transit to calculate the elevation rise from the sewer outlet to the city tap. He determined what was needed to complete the job and quickly provided an estimate for the work.
Obviously, since we were moving from a septic system to the city system, the existing septic tank had to be evacuated, collapsed and filled in. Due to the elevation rise, a grinder and pump system were also required. This meant an electrician would be needed as well.
Not only did Cole procure the pump system, he reached out and was able to schedule a septic company to evacuate the tank and an electrician to work in conjunction with his team.
3rd Rock worked fast and by the end of the day, the final electrical connection was all that remained.
Unfortunately, there were scheduling issues that delayed the electricians. Cole worked diligently as a middle man to get the process on track. After several more days of delay, Mike, the owner of 3rd Rock contacted the electrician. Eventually everything was completed and the inspections were signed off.
Cole and his team returned to backfill the excavation site to grade. When finished, they sowed grass seed and covered it with a layer of straw.
But the story continues…
Following a heavy rain, the area over the old septic tank settled down and left an unsightly depression in the lawn. Once again, Cole and Jay came out and decided on a course of action. They returned soon after, filled the depression, and re-seeded the area. They even seeded the track marks left by the small excavator that was used.
In addition, Jay conducted an internal inspection of the pump system and control panel to make sure everything was operating as it’s intended to.

We have had several problems with leaks and clogs since buying our house six years ago. We called another plumbing company before finding out about 3rd rock and they charged us $600 for NOTHING. They didn't fix any issues we had. Eli and Jonah, from 3rd rock, came and fixed a difficult leak for us quickly and for a fair price! We will definitely use them again for any plumbing issues in the future.
